What Constitutes Misconduct

Exam Misconduct

Serious Violations (Certificate Revoked):

  • Using AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) during exam

  • Having someone else take the exam (impersonation)

  • Accessing unauthorized websites during exam

  • Receiving outside help or answers from others

  • Screen sharing or getting help via video call

  • Using books, notes, or materials during exam

  • Attempting to access/distribute exam questions

Moderate Violations (Certificate Withheld/Delayed):

  • Suspicious activity patterns that don't confirm cheating

  • Network anomalies or unusual behavior

  • Borderline exam completion times

  • Flagged by AI but inconclusive evidence

Minor Violations (Warning/Probation):

  • Minor policy violations

  • Technical rule violations (minor)

Credential Misuse

Serious Violations:

  • Falsifying or forging GAMTS credentials

  • Using credential after revocation

  • Lending your credential to someone else

  • Claiming certification you don't hold

Moderate Violations:

  • Misrepresenting the scope of certification

  • Using credential in misleading ways

  • Not updating credentials status when expired

5-Step Process for All Allegations:

Step 1: Report (Day 1)

  • Misconduct reported to GAMTS (anonymously or with identity)

  • Report submitted via support@gamts.org or online form

  • Initial confirmation sent to reporter

Step 2: Assessment (Days 1-5)

  • GAMTS reviews allegation

  • Determines if investigation warranted

  • Contact may be made to gather preliminary information

  • Decision: Proceed with investigation or close case

Step 3: Investigation (Days 6-21)

  • Evidence gathered from multiple sources

  • Statements collected from relevant parties

  • Exam activity logs reviewed

  • Technical analysis conducted if needed

  • All relevant information documented

Step 4: Decision (Days 22-28)

  • Evidence compiled and reviewed

  • Finding issued: Substantiated, Unsubstantiated, or Inconclusive

  • Consequences determined if substantiated

  • Detailed written decision prepared

Step 5: Notification (Day 28)

  • Candidate notified of finding and consequences

  • Explanation of decision provided

  • Appeal rights explained

  • Timeline for any action

Appeal Your Misconduct Finding

You Have the Right to Appeal If:

Appeal Process
